One electronically tested 18KT yellow and white gold ladies cast & assembled diamond ring. The early 1900's ring features a white gold diamond set curvature supported by tapering yellow gold shoulders with blue enameling, completed by a two and one-half millimeter wide band. Bright polish finish with milgrain detailing. Hallmarks: London, England and the year. The ring is reminiscent of the jewelry designs from the Art Nouveau Period. The Art Nouveau Period is characterized with jewelry designs from the 19th century French jewelry designs created by makers who used colored gemstone and rose cut diamonds in settings based on elaborate openwork floral motifs. The Art Nouveau design movement emerged in fin de siecle Paris and near the end of Queen Victoria's reign, and was showcased at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1900. It flourished into the beginning of the twentieth century, during Edward VII reign. Art Nouveau was based on a return to craftsmanship, with an emphasis on design. Asymmetrical lines and elaborate ornamentation were key Art Nouveau elements, and designs often depicted flowers and plants, the female form, and flowing hair. Condition is good. Containing: Sixteen prong set single cut diamonds, measuring 1.80 - 1.70 x 1.05mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 16 Stones = 0.40ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity: VS-2 to SI-2. Color: G - I. Total Weight of Diamonds 0.40ct. Total Weight of Ring 5.67 grams. AIG Appraised.
